More About Exeter

Situated at the furthest end of the M5 motorway, Exeter is in the beautiful county of Devon in South West England. Like many of the towns and cities of Britain, Exeter can be traced so far back in history to a period when everything was dark, cold and shit; when people had to hunt tigers and the cool stuff we enjoy today like TV, Krispy Kreme doughnuts and the Samsung Galaxy smartphone hadn't been invented yet (hideous times).

Exeter survived heavy bombing by those absolute bastards the German Luftwaffe during the Second World War and many historic buildings in the city centre were destroyed during the period 1940-1942. Rebuilt in the 1950s, Exeter these days is a beautiful city with a wonderful Cathedral (that was damaged but thankfully not destroyed during the bombings).

Situated 37 miles north of Plymouth and 70 miles south of Bristol, Exeter's population stands are around 122,000, making it one of the smaller cities in the UK. Travel north is easy enough given the already mentioned M5 motorway, and the city has good rail links and an international airport.

Exeter has its own university.  Notable people from Exeter include the father of the computer Charles Babbage and Chris Martin from Coldplay. Exeter University also taught now world-famous and super-rich author JK Rowling how to read and write.
